🗺️ Why reproducibility ?¶
Main motivation¶
The primary beneficiary is you !
- work more efficiently over time;
- easily repeat their experiment with a new hypothesis/parameter;
- correct their own unintentional errors.
The benefit is also for others and the scientific community, because reproducibility allows you to:
- be more easily understood by your colleagues;
- submit results for peer review;
- extend the results.
At each stage of a research project's life cycle, the practices adopted can be a cause of non-reproducibility. There are many levers for action, which may concern data collection and management, code and its robustness, software environments, backups, versions and archives, as well as licences. Caring all these aspects is essential to ensure reproducibility !
